Claudio Reyna was named the Scottish Premier League’s Player of the Month after scoring five goals and helping the Scottish champion to five straight wins in the Premier League and a place among the final 32 in Europe after eliminating UEFA champion Parma in the preliminary round of the Champions League. “It’s probably been the best month I’ve known as a player, especially as we qualified for the Champions League,” he told Scottish reporters after being honored along with Rangers manager Dick Advocaat as the Manager of the Month. Rangers is off due to Euro 2000 qualifying until Sept. 11 when it plays last-place Aberdeen.
