A game postponed until Monday by weather, yet still played in chilly rain, slipped away from Universidad Catolica and cost the club its top spot in the overall Chilean League standings. Cobreloa rallied from a two-goal deficit to earn a 3-3 tie in the last match of the Apertura regular season. American goalkeeper Jonny Walker was beaten by Fernando Cornejo's well-placed free kick in the 71st minute and again in the 86th minute by his own defender, Albert Acevedo, who mistakenly blasted the ball into his own net while trying to clear it. Catolica, however, remains unbeaten in 10 matches and first in Group B entering the Apertura playoffs. The winner of the Apertura playoffs earns one of Chile's three berths in next year's Copa Libertadores competition. Catolica will face either Santiago Morning or Huachipato in the first round of the playoffs on June 2. Walker, who allowed just 14 goals in 11 regular season starts, was named the Apertura's top goalkeeper by Chilean sports medium Terra.
