U.S. Futsal team advances to Spain’ 96

The U.S. national futsal team has qualified for the thired World Futsal Championship, which will be held in Spain Nov. 26 through Dec. 5.

The U.S. clinched its berth with a 7-3 semifinal victory over Guatemala, and will play Cuba on Sunday for the CONCACAF championship and a possible top seeding for Spain ’96, in which 16 teams will compete in four groups.

Dennis Brose of the NPSL’s Detroit Rockers had a hat trick in the Guatemala match and leads all U.S. players with five goals.
