Tim Howard was named goalkeeper of the year by the Professional Footballers Association a day after Manchester United's title hopes ended with a 1-0 loss at home to Liverpool.
An excellent performance from goalkeeper Kasey Keller helped Tottenham contain Arsenal and eventual emerge with a 2-2 tie. The result gave Arsenal the Premier League title but also helped slow Spurs' slide toward relegation.
Elsewhere, Eddie Lewis scored his seventh goal of the season for Preston in his first game since hernia surgery in March, and Gregg Berhalter scored his fourth of the season for Energie Cottbus in Germany's Second Division.
