American defender Gregg Berhalter was named the fifth best central defender in the German Second Division by German magazine Kicker in its annual season-end rankings.
Berhalter, 30, played 31 games and scored five goals during the 2003-04 season for Energie Cottbus, which missed promotion to the First Division on goal difference.
