The exploits of the U.S. U-17 national team at the FIFA U-17 World Championship (Nov. 10-27) will be televised in the USA by Fox Sports World and pay-per-view. The U.S. Soccer Federation acquired the rights, in conjunction with Nike and Innovative Sports Marketing, for the New Zealand-hosted U-17 World Cup that the United States enters as a favorite for the first time in the tournament’s history. As part of a 17-game broadcast package, every U.S. match will be featured on tape delay on Fox Sports World and live on the DISH Network via pay-per-view. The entire broadcast package, which also includes complete coverage of the Brazilian and Mexican games, can be ordered through the DISH Network by calling (800) 333-DISH. Additional pay-per-view and cable outlets will be announced in the coming weeks. “This is a landmark agreement for U.S. Soccer,” said Mark Noonan, chief marketing officer for U.S. Soccer. “We know how important it is to give our fans an opportunity to follow our teams when they are competing at the highest level, and that’s why we worked so hard with Nike and Innovative Sports Marketing to get this deal done. Educated followers of the sport know that our U-17 team is something special, and we didn’t want to miss the opportunity to showcase their talents.” The U.S. U-17s are currently riding a 20-game unbeaten streak, the longest such streak in the history of any U.S. men’s national team program. The Fox Sports World broadcasts are scheduled to air in 24-to-72 hour windows after each match, with a precise schedule yet to be announced.
