The Project-40 team, coached by Glenn Myernick, ended its Germany-Netherlands tour on a high note with two wins and a tie against Dutch competition after starting its trip with three losses.

Luchi Gonzalez, the 2001 Hermann Trophy winner who was waived by San Jose after the 2002 MLS season and picked up by the Columbus Crew, scored a hat trick in a 3-2 win over the reserve team of Dutch Honor Division club Volendam.

In a rematch with PSV Eindhoven reserves after a 4-0 loss, the P-40 squad managed a 1-1 tie thanks to a strike by the Los Angeles Galaxy's Gavin Glinton.
