U.S. SOCCER: Radio Unica awarded national team Spanish-language radio rights

U.S. Soccer has awarded Radio Unica, the Spanish-language talk and sports radio network, the exclusive Spanish-language radio broadcast rights to all U.S. national team home matches through 2006.

Radio Unica will deliver live, play-by-play coverage of U.S. men's national team action, as well as select women's games.

The coverage will be augmented with interviews with players and coaches and news and commentary.

Radio Unica covers approximately 80 percent of the Hispanic market through a group of owned and/or operated stations and affiliates nationwide.

The operations include Radio Unica Network and stations in Los Angeles, New York, Miami, San Francisco, Chicago, Houston, San Antonio, McAllen, Texas, Dallas, Fresno/Bakersfield, Calif. Phoenix, Tucson and Sacramento.
