The U.S. under-20 national team will travel to the French Riviera on May 20 to play in the 29th Festival International Espoirs of Toulon from May 24 – June 2. Head Coach Wolfgang Suhnholz has called in 18 players for the trip including 14 players who were a part of the team that went undefeated in Trinidad in March to qualify for the World Youth Championship. The U.S. will bring four professional players to Toulon, including Conor Casey (Borussia Dortmund – Germany), Edson Buddle (Columbus Crew) and Seth Trembly (Colorado Rapids), who will be making their first appearances with the team since the CONCACAF qualifying tournament. The Kansas City Wizards Jose Burciaga, Creighton University’s David Wagenfuhr, UNC’s Logan Pause and Virginia’s Alecko Eskandarian did not travel to Trinidad with the team in March, but are on the Toulon roster and looking to squeeze into Suhnholz’s Argentina plans.
