The U.S. men's national team will make its first appearance at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif., Jan. 18 against Denmark (12:30 pm PT/3:30 pm ET, live on ESPN)
''Denmark is traditionally a very solid team with some outstanding talent,'' said U.S. coach Bruce Arena. ''This a great challenge for us as we begin the process of preparing for 2006 World Cup qualifying. We're looking forward to the excitement of playing our first match at the wonderful new Home Depot Center.''
The United States and Denmark have met three times. The Danes won once and two games ended in ties. Their latest clash was a 4-1 Denmark win in 1997.
The Danes fell, 3-0, to England in the round of 16 of the 2002 World Cup, after beating France and Uruguay, and tying Senegal in group play.
The United States begins its World Cup qualifying campaign June 13, against the winner of the home-and-away series between Grenada and Guyana.
