Hope Solo, the former University of Washington All-American and Philadelphia Charge goalkeeper, notched her second shutout for Kopparbergs/Goteborg, leading the club to another 1-0 Damallsvenskan victory, this time over Sjalevads IK in K/G's home opener.

Solo, who shutout Sunnana SK the previous week, faced few tests in shutting down Sjalevads, and Sofia Palmqvist netted K/Goteborg's goal in the 78th minute. Solo's next challenge will be European champion Umea IK, on the road, on April 29.

Former Rutgers defender Denise Reddy also was part of a Swedish League shutout, in Malmo FF's scoreless draw with visiting Mallbackens IF.

The Augustyniak twins won their German League battle with former UCLA standout Tracey Winzen, with Nancy playing the full match in midfield and Julie coming on in the second half of FFC Turbine Potsdam's 6-0 rout of visiting VfL Wolfsburg. The Augustyniaks' former Atlanta Beat teammate Conny Pohlers netted one of Turbine's goals.

Turbine is in second place in the Frauen-Bundesliga, one point behind FFC Frankfurt, which beat Wolfsburg on Wednesday and FFC Brauweiler Pulheim on Sunday. Former Carolina Courage star Birgit Prinz scored once against Wolfsburg and twice against Brauweiler.

Frankfurt and Turbine have seven games remaining.
