FC Energy Voronezh earned a spot in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Women's Cup on Saturday with a 3-0 victory Saturday over Azerbaijani champion Gomrukcu Baku in Shaulyay, Lithuania.

The Russian champions, featuring U.S. women's national team pool defender Jenny Benson, went 3-0-0 in Group A2 of the first qualifying round of Europe's women's club championship. Energy, a quarterfinalist in last season's competition, outscored its opposition, 27-0.

Gomrukcu Baku, also a quarterfinalist in the 2003-04 tournament, also won its first two matches, but Energy scored twice in the first 12 minutes and netted the third with the game little more than a half-hour old.

Helen Tereckov scored twice, in the fourth and 31st minutes, and Darya Apanashchenko tallied in the 12th. The final goal was set up by teen World Cup standout Elena Danilova, who beat five defenders before feeding Tereckov.

Benson, formerly a star left back with the Philadelphia Charge, scored three goals, all on penalty kicks, in a 13-0 rout Tuesday of Macedonia's KFF Sciponjat. She netted another in Thursday's 11-0 romp over host Gintra-Universitetas.

Energy will face Norway's Trondheims-Orn, Denmark's Brondby and Kazakhstan's Alma KTZH in Group B4 of the second qualifying round, which will be contested in mid-September.

Alma KTZH beat Slavia Prague, 2-1, in the decisive Group A1 match in Ziar Nad Hronom, Slovakia.

Spanish champion Athletic Bilbao, which had former WUSA goalkeeper Maite Zabala on its books earlier this year, also advanced to the second qualifying round, going 2-0-1 in Group A7.

Others qualifying were FC Bobruichanka (Belarus), ZNK Krka Novo Mesto (Slovenia), ZFK Masinac-Classic Nis (Serbia & Montenegro), AZS Wroclaw KS (Poland), AE Aegina (Greece) and Montpellier HSC (France).
