Hope Solo earned her third shutout in four Swedish League matches with Kopparbergs/Goteborg, and Nancy Augustyniak tried out a new position at German power FFC Turbine Potsdam just before heading home to America to join the U.S. women's national team's Olympic Residency in Carson, Calif.

Solo, a former University of Washington All-American who played last year with the WUSA's Philadelphia Charge, dominated her area in a 1-0 victory Saturday over visiting Hammarby DF IFF. Solo also turned in clean sheets in K/Goteborg's first two Damallsvenskan matches, 1-0 victories over Sunnana SK and Sjalevads IK. Marlene Sjoberg got Sunday's goal in the 34th minute.

K/Goteborg (3-1-0) is in fourth place, trailing Umea IK and Djurgarden/Alvsjo by three points and Malmo FF by one.

Malmo (3-0-1), with Denise Reddy in central defense, extended its no-goals-against streak to 340 minutes, notching a third straight shutout in a 3-0 win over Sunnana SK.

In Germany, Augustyniak tried out a new position — in central midfield — as second-place FFC Turbine Potsdam (14-1-1) rallied for a 3-3 home draw Sunday with third-place FFC Heike Rheine (9-4-3). Augustyniak, a backline standout for the WUSA's Atlanta Beat and former Clemson University star, has played primarily as a left-sided midfielder for Turbine, and she also has played outside back.

She'll spend at least a week with the U.S. team, starting Tuesday. The U.S. Women have next week off, so Augustyniak likely will return to Germany unless Coach April Heinrichs offers her a Residency contract.

Turbine's tie with Heike Rheine left it five points behind FFC Frankfurt (16-0-1), which fell, 3-0, Saturday in the first leg of the UEFA Women's Cup final against Sweden's Umea IK. Anja Mittag and Conny Pohlers provided a two-goal lead by the 20th minute, but Turbine needed Petra Wimbersky's 87th-minute strike to earn a point.

Should Turbine win its next five matches and Frankfurt win its next four, their showdown in a June 13 season-finale would determine the championship. Turbine has an advantage in goal-differential and could catch Frankfurt by winning the remainder of its Frauen-Bundesliga matches.

Tracey Winzen went the full 90 in the back as VfL Wolfsburg blanked FFC Brauweiler Pulheim, 4-0, in another German League match Sunday.

Darci Borski started up front again for Asker (3-0-1) in a 0-0 tie with Klepp. The result dropped Asker to second place in the Norwegian Toppserien, two points behind Trondheims-Orn.

Athletic Bilbao (19-3-3) clinched the Spanish League title, but goalkeeper Maite Zabala didn't see action again. Athletic's 3-1 win over last-place Corderex (1-21-3) sent it five points ahead of Sabadell (17-4-4) and Levante (17-4-4) with one match remaining. Sabadell, which had been the only club within striking distance, was held to a 2-2 tie at home by lowly Pozuelo (6-17-2).
