FFC Turbine Potsdam looks this weekend to climb within four points of German League leader FFC Frankfurt, which has the weekend off from Frauen-Bundesliga duty to play the first leg of the UEFA Women's Cup final.

Turbine Potsdam (14-1-0), featuring former Atlanta Beat defenders Julie and Nancy Augustyniak, is seven points behind FFC Frankfurt (16-0-1) heading into a home game Sunday against third-place FFC Heike Rheine (9-4-2).

FFC Frankfurt is in Sweden on Saturday to meet reigning European champion Umea IK. The second leg will be played June 5 in Frankfurt.

FFC Frankfurt toppled FSV Frankfurt, 2-0, in a Frauen-Bundesliga match on Tuesday as former Carolina Courage striker Birgit Prinz scored her 15th goal of the season and former Washington Freedom defender Sandra Minnert netted her second.

VfL Wolfsburg (6-8-2), with former UCLA defender Tracey Winzen, and Bad Neuenahr (6-7-2), with former Cal State Dominguez Hills striker Dianne Garza, are among four clubs within four points of fifth-place FCR 2001 Duisburg. Neither is in danger of relegation.

Malmo FF (2-0-1), its backline anchored by former Rutgers standout Denise Reddy, takes a 250-minute shutout streak into Sunday's game against Sunnana SK (0-2-1). Former Philadelphia Charge goalkeeper Hope Solo, with two shutouts in three games, on Saturday leads Kopparbergs/Goteborg (2-1-0) against visiting Hammarby IF DFF (2-1-0).

Umea improved to 4-0-0 (outscoring foes, 25-2) in the Damallsvenskan with a 6-0 romp Wednesday at Karlsrunds IF DFF. Laura Kalmari scored her sixth goal and Brazilian teen Marta netted her fourth and fifth.

Asker (3-0-0), with former Hampton Roads Piranhas forward Darci Borski, seeks extend its Norwegian League lead Saturday at Klepp (2-1-0). Trondheims-Orn (3-0-0), the only other perfect side, beat Klepp, 2-0, last weekend and is home against Roa this week.

Athletic Bilbao (18-3-3), which hasn't used veteran WUSA goalkeeper Maite Zabala in a Spanish League match, would clinch the Superliga title if it beats last-place Corderex (1-20-3) and Sabadell (17-4-3) ties (or worse) against 11th-place Pozuelo (6-17-1) on Sunday. The season concludes May 16.

The Finnish League kicks off this weekend, but Becky Barritt won't be in an FC Honka uniform. She's graduating from Duquesne University this weekend and heads to Europe on Monday.

The Russian League, featuring FC Energy Voronezh's Jenny Benson, a former Charge defender, is off until May 28.
