The U.S. and Trinidad & Tobago are locked in a scoreless tie at halftime of their World Cup qualifier in Richmond, Va.
There has been much more attacking play than in last week’s Guatemala match, but neither team has created more than a handful of quality scoring opportunities. The U.S. started Eddie Pope in defense, with Jeff Agoos moving forward into the midfield and the injured Cobi Jones not playing. Ernie Stewart and Eric Wynalda have done well for the U.S. thus far.
The U.S. has been booked three times — Jeff Agoos in the 17th minute, Joe-Max Moore in the 18th, and Tab Ramos in the 20th, while Trinidad’s Lewis received a card in the 11th minute.
T&T midfielder Angus Eve had to leave the game after suffering what appeared to be a pulled muscle. He was replaced by Dwarika in the 16th minute.
