USA Olympic Women’s Update: USA 1 Denmark 0 (first half)

Tisha Venturini scored in the 36th minute to put the U.S. women a 1-0 lead over Denmark in their first round game.

Brandi Chastain took a throw-in on the left side of the field, about 25 yards out. Venturini volleyed it to the far post from the left side of the top of the box. Denmark keeper Dorthe Larsen dove to her left and got both hands on the ball, deflecting it off the post and into the goal.
