USA Olympic Women’s Update: USA 1 Norway 1 (after 90 minutes)

After 90 minutes of play, the U.S. and Norway are still tied 1-1. Linda Medalen scored for Norway, while Michelle Akers nailed a PK for the U.S. (The penalty was for a handball on Norway’s Tangeraas, not Espeseth).

Norway’s Agnete Carlsen, a defender, was red-carded in the 82nd minute when she grabbed Mia Hamm from behind to prevent a breakaway.

If there is no score after 30 minutes of sudden-death overtime, the match will be decided by a penalty shootout.
