Concacaf has ruled that the United States national team will be permitted to call up seven more players to its Gold Cup roster, taking the total to 30 players. The ruling allows any team playing in both the Confederations Cup and the Gold Cup to use an additional seven roster spots to cope with the demands of the two tournaments.

"This year, we have the Confederations Cup ending just five days before the start of the Gold Cup," Concacaf General Secretary Chuck Blazer said. "This allowance will be extended to any team in the future that finds itself in the same situation." Teams' game-day rosters, however, will still be limited to 18 players.
