The USA and Jamaica are tied 1-1 in their World Cup Qualifying match. Eric Wynalda scored on a penalty kick in the 49th minute to give the USA a 1-0 lead over Jamaica. Jamaica’s Ian Goodison was called for a handball in the box (although replays seemed to show that he was outside the area), and Wynalda calmly struck the spot kick past Warren Barrett for the goal. However, just a minute later, Jeff Agoos attempted to clear the ball from deep in the U.S. half, and it deflected off of a Jamaican player directly to Deon Burton about twelve yards out from the goal. The Derby County forward left Premier League rival Kasey Keller no chance with a driven shot to the far corner, knotting the match at one apiece.
