WINNERS:

BORUSSIA MONECHENGLADBACH remains unbeaten since the winter break, but American keeper Kasey Keller was scored on from 40 yards and was judged by the linesman to have carried the ball over the goal line (which replays did not confirm) for the second goal in a 3-2 win over Freiburg.

OGUCHI ONYEWU, who is ineligible for the USA's World Cup qualifier on Wednesday because of a red-card suspension, helped Belgian's Standard Liege beat FC Brussels, 1-0, to extend Standard's unbeaten streak to seven games. Onyewu received his fifth yellow card of the season in the Brussels game.

CORY GIBBS made his fourth straight start since joining Feyenoord in its 7-2 win over De Graafschap. Gibbs, Feyenoord's highest rated defender by Voetbol International, left the game in the 80th minute after receiving a head injury, but he is accepted to be available for the USA's World Cup qualifier on Wednesday.

EDDIE LEWIS assisted in Preston North End's 3-2 win over Coventry, which keeps second-tier Preston in the hunt for a promotion playoff spot.

Texas product KENNY COOPER, 20, scored in Oldham's 2-1 loss to Swindon. Cooper joined third-tier Oldham on loan from Manchester United, which had previously loaned him to Portuguese First Division team Academia, and debuted as a sub for Oldham in the FA Cup Jan. 30.

COLOMBIA, led by HUGO RODALLEGA's 11 goals, won the South American U-20 championship and qualified for this summer's World Youth Championship along with Brazil, Argentina and Chile. The U.S. U-20s qualified from the CONCACAF region in January.

After going winless in its first three games, CHIVAS GUADALAJARA notched its first win of the Clausura 2005, downing Veracruz, 2-0, four days after notching a 3-1 Libertadores Cup win in its first-leg game against Peru's Cienciano.

LOSERS:

In his third Bundesliga third game since joining BAYER LEVERKUSEN, Landon Donovan again replaced Robson Ponte late in the game (73rd minute), by which time Bayern Munich was already up 2-0, which held up for the final score.

HANNOVER 96, with American Steve Cherundolo, fell, 3-1, to Borussia Dortmund — Hannover's third loss in four games.

Carlos Bocanegra returned to FULHAM's starting lineup after missing the last two games (one with a yellow-card suspension), but the Cottagers fell, 3-1, to Liverpool. Brian McBride stayed on the bench.

DAVID YELLDELL, Brighton's 23-year-old German-born American keeper who made his English League Championship debut last week in a 1-1 tie with Leeds, went down, 3-2, Saturday against Derby.

A 1-0 loss to Middlesbrough drops BLACKBURN, for which U.S. keeper Brad Friedel has played every minute this season, to just five points above the relegation zone.

NECAXA, with American Daniel Hernandez, lost, 1-0, to Cruz Azul. Necaxa's three losses and one win in the Mexican Clausura 2005's first four games has it in languishing in fifth place of six-team Group 3.
