The Kansas City Wizards were gracious in defeat after falling 2-0 to the Columbus Crew Saturday and 3-1 overall in the Eastern Conference semifinal.

“They’re a good team,” admitted Wizards’ goalkeeper Kevin Hartman. “There’s no bones about it. Maybe if we were able to come in with the goal advantage that we coughed up at home … You’re always going to say, ‘What could have been’ at the end of a season.”

“Credit to them,” added Wizards’ coach Curt Onalfo. “They’ve been a very hard team to play against all year. They’re all on the same page.” He was also encouraged by the season that his young team posted, claiming “we have a lot to be proud of. Our team finished two points better than it did last year. We did that with a very young team, similar to what [Crew coach Sigi Schmid] was able to do here.”
