Block tickets for first-round matches at the 1998 World Cup in France go on sale to the public Nov. 27. Individual tickets range in price from $29-70 for first-round matches and as high as $590 for the final.
The France ’98 organizing committee will not announce plans for the sale of tickets abroad, to tour operators or the federation of participating teams, until next year. Tickets for the opening game at the new Stade de France and later rounds go on sale in late 1997.
About 500,000 tcikets have been sold so far in France in the France Pass program similar to the priority sale of tickets to members of the U.S. Soccer community in 1993 for the ’94 World Cup.
