Friday, June 21 in Shizuoka (2:30 am ET) Quarterfinals: BRAZIL vs. ENGLAND (TV: Live, ESPN, Univision 2:30 am ET, Tape, Telefutura, 10 am ET/PT) Americans fans will be focused on USA-Germany, but the showcase match for fans around the world will take place five hours earlier in Shizuoka, where Brazil and England, two of the great names of soccer, square off in the quarterfinals. Brazil is the favorite to win the World Cup with the elimination of France, Argentina, Portugal and Italy, but England could be its biggest hurdle in its quest for a fifth World Cup title. England has shown little attacking power — it's main weapon is David Beckham's crosses and corner kicks — but it's done just enough to win. Brazil leads the tournament with 13 goals in four games, but it was aided by controversial refereeing decisions in its wins over Turkey and Belgium. Both teams are expected to field unchanged lineups from their second-round games. The big question marks for England are the fitness of striker Michael Owen and midfielder Paul Scholes.
