By Paul Kennedy in Seoul Two years ago, Owen Hargreaves was an unknown, one of dozens of Canadian teenagers trying their luck in Europe. Now, he's going to start in the World Cup for … England. The 21-year-old Hargreaves, who helped German club Bayern Munich win the 2001 Championship League, got his break in the English squad when Steven Gerrard, considered one of Europe's most talented young defensive midfielders, was injured. Hargreaves had two good games in England's final two tests before the World Cup and is expected to start against Sweden Sunday. Hargreaves, who raised in Calgary qualified to play for England because his father is English, knows how fast one fortunes change in soccer. ''Things go up and down very quickly in football,'' said Hargraeves, who had an amateur contract with Bayern when he began the 2000-01 season. ''It's important to put in a good performance every game and try to make a name for one's self.''
