Boston, beset by national team call-ups and injury, acquired Nigerian midfielder Florence Omagbemi as its third reserve player. The Breakers plan to activate her this week. They have already activated reserve goalkeeper Rebecca Hornbacher and defender Christine McCann to help fill an active roster missing five players: Norway’s Dagny Mellgren and Germany’s Maren Meinert and Bettina Wiegmann were called in for Euro 2001 duty; Canada called up Karina LeBlanc for a series of friendlies; and forward Robin Confer has a back injury. Omagbemi most recently played in midfield for San Diego WFC of the WPSL. She spent the 1999 season at Milligan College, an NAIA school in Tennessee, and was named an NAIA All-American.
