What They’re Saying

“I would have wished the situation would not have happened. We had 2,500 fans with us and we were told we could not go over (to thank them). The police actually told us they would report us to UEFA and I feel that is showing disrespect. A fine feeling and fine touch was missing there.”

Loyola Marymount’s Krumpe gets golden goal

MEN’S NEWS … Tyler Krumpe, the son of Loyola Marymount coach and former U.S. international Paul Krumpe, scored his first goal of the season four minutes into overtime to give the Lions a 2-1 victory at No. 19 San Diego Thursday night at Torero Stadium.

The loss was the first of the season in conference play for USD, which would have opened up an eight-point lead in the WCC with a win over LMU. * A-SUN SHOWDOWN. Campbell opened the season with a 1-6-1 record, but the Camels refused to lay down. They won for the fifth time in their last six games, defeating Stetson, 2-0, Thursday in their Atlantic Sun top-of-the-standings clash. Bubble teams have three weeks to improve positions

WOMEN’S NEWS … It’s not too early for teams to be evaluating their chances of making the NCAA Tournament. Win their conference and they’re in. Otherwise? The following teams could be categorized as bubble teams. Based on this week’s NCAA Women’s Division I RPI index, they would just miss out on the 34 at-large berths.
