BY RIDGE MAHONEY in Lyons The tournament for which Coach Bruce Arena had put little emphasis on results ended with the only American point in the Confederations Cup, virtue of a 0-0 tie against African champion Cameroon. In being blanked by the Indomitable Lions the Americans were in good company. Cameroon didn't conceded a goal […]

As I said the other day, the Confederations Cup has been an invaluable experience for the younger players. We started 20 different players in this tournament. Tonight we had a lineup with some very […]

IT WOULD REASON THAT STEFFI JONES' LATEST American adventure, as a star midfielder for the WUSA's best side, offers her the opportunity to explore her American-ness. She's the Frankfurt-born daughter of a black American GI and a blue-eyed, blonde German, and she's been entranced by her American roots – largely hidden – since she was […]

Jovan Kirovski, he of the powerful run and shot against Germany in 1999 and a fierce shot off the goalkeeper's face in Seattle earlier this year, did the gritty work May 26 against Wales in a 2-0 victory. He won balls in the air. […]
